George, what have you done...

recently, George Lucas sold the rights to his companies (LucasArts, Skywalker Sound, and Industrial Light & Sound) for several billion U$D!
and, worse still, he sold them to disney, who have since announced they plan to release "Episode 7". I personally find this to be terrible news, because they'll probably end up ruining the franchise, as they have so many others.
aside from Ep 7, LucasArts released (before selling out) a new game, Star Wars|1313, a 3rd person shooter simillar to uncharted, but set post episode 3. (so in Luke's time)

i know this is nerdy, but please don't judge, I felt like everyone should know how bad this really is.
imagine this: your favorite movie series, the one you really love, with a good sequel and prequel, that was done and finished, the story ended.
then |Disney bought it and announced a new sequel, that when you watch was terrible, and too childish, and on top of that they had to make the story in-plausible.

so, yeh, that's what I'm thinking is gonna happen.
no, actually, I think it's DEFIANTLY going to happen.

  1. So as a loyal customer and fan you feel betrayed. Understandable and there are a lot of other people who would have the same viewpoint. But from George Lucas' perspective he is looking to move on to different projects and his story (The story of Vader) has been told. He wants the start wars universe to live on byond him. In terms of product lifecycle star wars is clearly in decline when it comes to DVD sales etc so why not pass the brand on and let someone relaunch it with a new look and feel. There are plenty more stories to choose from pre and post the film series. Also the rights include indiana jones and EVERYONE wants to see more of those right?

  3. I dont get why everyone is so bothered about this and noone seems to care about a new Star Wars Battlefront. Drop the movies, that game is one of the best of its time. -.-
